Q. Why do you need my logbook (V5)?

A. This is requested as evidence for occasions where an insurance company have given a discount for owning a vehicle for a certain period of time.

Q. What should I send for proof of address?

A. Your address is an important factor used by insurers to calculate your premium and some companies will want to see evidence of this. We can accept either a utility bill (e.g. gas/water/electricity bill) or a bank statement provided they are dated within the last 3 months.

Q. How can I send my documents to you?

A. The easiest way is to email your files to docs@brokerexperts.co.uk. Other ways we can accept your documents are by post to office address which can be found on the contact us page of our website.

Q. I had some points over four years ago and they’re no longer on my licence. Do I have to disclose them?

A. If they were within the last five years of your policy start date then the answer is yes, even if they are not on your licence anymore. This is because the legal duty of disclosure for motoring convictions is up to five years.

Q. My licence is in my old address, will you accept it?

A. No. Your licence needs to match the address you live at. Failure to do so could result in up to a £1000.00 fine from the DVLA. Did you know changing your address with the DVLA is now free of charge, this can be updated over the phone or via the DVLA website.

Q. How do I cancel my policy?

A. If you are looking to cancel your policy please call our customer services team on 01344 289 201 (option 2) who may be able to help find an alternative solution. Please note some Insurers may require confirmation in writing, you will also need to return your certificate of insurance.

Q. Who is my finance provider.

A. We have selected Premium Credit as your provider, if you wish to learn more about them please visit their website here.

Q. How long does it take to process my refund?

A. We will endeavour to process your refund within 14 working days, please note in some instances this may take up to 30 days.

Q. Do I need my insurance certificate to tax my vehicle?

A. No, please check your tax reminder form for what documents are required. Did you know that you are able to tax your vehicle online as long as you have valid insurance and MOT.

Q. Can I change my payment dates?

A. You will be supplied with a payment date, if the date is not suitable to you it can be changed by visiting the Premium Credit website here (Terms and conditions apply).

Q. I have misplaced my documents, how to I get duplicates?

A. You can contact us by emailing info@brokerexperts.co.uk or by calling our customer services team on 01344 289 201 (option 2), quoting your reference number for any duplicate documents required.

Q. Do I have EU (European Union) cover?

A. If this cover is included in your policy, you can locate the information in your policy booklet, alternatively you can call our customer services team on 01344 289 201 (option 2).

Q. I have Comprehensive cover, do I get driving other cars automatically (DOC)?

A. No. The drive other cars benefit is applicable to specific policies only. Please check your certificate of insurance for confirmation.

Q. How do I get my no claims bonus from you?

A. At renewal we will issue you with a renewal notice which is accepted as proof of no claims bonus.

Q. Can I use my renewal notice as proof of no claims bonus?

A. Yes, a renewal notice is proof of no claims bonus or alternatively we will accept a confirmation of no claims bonus letter from your previous Insurer.

Q. What is NCB and can I use it on more than one car?

A. NCB is No Claim Bonus, also referred to as No Claim Discount. You earn NCB by completing a 12 month policy, in your name, without having, or being involved in, any incidents that your insurance company have to pay out for. You can earn multiple NCB’s if you have more than one insurance policy in your name. However you can only use one NCB on one policy at a time.

Q. How do I get my insurance certificate?

A. You can find your insurance certificate on your welcome email sent to you when you took out your policy.

Q. What documents show I am covered?

A. Your certificate of insurance is proof of cover.

Q. Can I protect my no claims bonus during my policy?

A. No. You can only protect your no claims bonus at the start of your policy or on the renewal date. Please note to protect your no claims bonus you must have earnt at least 4 years no claims bonus.

Q. How do I make changes to my policy?

A. Call our friendly customer services team on 01344 289 201 (option 2).

Q. How do I get my driving license check code?

A. You’ll need to have your driving licence, National Insurance number and Post Code to hand. You can access the website by clicking here, entering your details and selecting "get your check code".

Q. How do I inform you of an accident/make a claim on my policy?

A. Report your accident/claim immediately to Crusader Assistance on 01344 289 201 (option 3).
